Northend United Youth FC round-up: Under-12s go clear at top

WHAT a weekend for Northend’s impressive U12s, when they went two points clear at the top of their Belfast and East Antrim League with a 4-3 win over Carnmoney FDC.

Also in the Belfast and East Antrim League, in a game of second verses third, Johnny Sayers’ U13s dropped two points, when they drew 2-2 with North Belfast United at Dunfane, in a match they should really have won.

In the Elite National League it was a mixed bag of results with the U14s losing to Irish league Academy side Ballymena United in their Derby match.

The U16s drew with Glendowan 1-1 at Mallusk in a match where they failed to make their dominance count in the final score.

In the North West and Coleraine and District Youth League, the Northend Babies U9s lost against an older and much bigger Ballymoney United team, although playing some attractive football.

The U10s beat Irish League Academy side Coleraine by a 2-1 score line and finally the U11s also lost against a good Institute team in only their third match of the season.

On Friday night, the Club’s Youth Academy continued at their Showgrounds venue with almost forty boys and girls in attendance.
