Northend United Youth FC round-up: Under-15s set up ‘derby’ cup final

NORTHEND United Youth U15s reached their first final of the season on Saturday when they beat Larne Youth 3-2 to head up their section of the Belfast and East Antrim Shield competition.

The Final will be an all-Ballymena affair where they play Southside in an eagerly awaited match.

Performance of the Week goes to Mark Lecky’s U11s who beat Antrim Rovers 6-0 in the League to further strengthen their lead at the top.

Elsewhere in the Belfast and East Antrim League, the U12s match was called off due to a water logged pitch after the Blues made the long journey to North Belfast.

The U13s had a free weekend while the U14s and U16s lost their matches against Loughside and Newington respectively.

In the Coleraine and District League, Northend’s U9s earned a credible draw with Irish League Academy side, Coleraine FC U9’s.

In the George Best Youth League, Danny Mitchell’s boys lost to Shankill Juniors at the Grove pitches in North Belfast on Saturday.
