Tournament organiser, Ally McGarry, commented: “With our own 2006 teams attending similar tournaments throughout Northern Ireland and really enjoying themselves, it was felt that the time was right for our Club to host its own tournament.”

In what is a first for Ballymena, teams, in four groups of four, will compete for the Slemish Invitational Cup in a seven-a-side format. Following the group stages, each team will compete in a Cup and Plate competition.

“We have been working hard on the details behind the scenes and plan to make it a day to remember for all,” added Ally.

The ambitious Club intend on rolling this tournament out into other age groups next year in what is intended as a top pre-season tournament in the youth football calendar. For more details please contact Ally on 07779005441.
