Sykes left Glenavon in January 2019 to join Oxford and has had his progress rewarded by the club with fresh terms that run until 2022.

Hide Ad“I’m settled here, love living in the area and the club has given me the opportunity to really show what I can do,” Sykes told the Oxford United club website. “I’ll always be grateful that they took a chance on bringing me over here and hopefully I can repay that faith by playing a part in the last couple of games and getting us where we all want to be.”
Oxford sit fifth entering the closing two games.
Sykes continued: “Oxford have taken the option on the contract, so happy days, I’m glad it’s sorted now.
“That’s it for next year and, hopefully, if I keep performing then something else will come up.

Hide Ad“Since the Lincoln game on Sky...from that onwards I feel I’ve been playing pretty well.
“I’ve had a few performances here and there...good and bad - but due to consistency, I feel like this is my best period...performance-wise, definitely.
“I’m really happy with how I’m getting on and results have been good as well, which helps.
