Six-game ban for Eoin Bradley as Coleraine kick off their season

Coleraine kick off their domestic season tonight with a North West Cup quarter-final tie at home to Portstewart, but they will be without striker Eoin Bradley, who has been handed a six-game ban by the Irish FA.

The Bannsiders striker was found guilty of misconduct in respect of a breach of Article 17 of the Irish FA's Articles of Association for urinating on the pitch before extra-time in his side's Irish Cup semi-final on 27 July.

Tonight's tie against neighbours Portstewart will eat up of one of those games, but boss Oran Kearney is hoping for an extended run in the competition to help free Bradley up for the League campaign sooner.

"Skinner has a six game ban to fulfil – ideally we want to get through to the next round of NW Cup," said the Bannsiders boss.

"If we can go a couple of rounds in it and get to the final – it would kill three games of his ban.

"What can you say, you have to take it on the chin, and ideally if we get through three games it would be good for Skinner"

Kearney though knows it will be tough against the Seahawks.

"It will be competitive," he said.

"Portstewart I'm sure will come here and be up for it.

"As I say the timing of the competition helps this year, and it will do no harm as people need minutes as well."

Kick-off at The Showgrounds tonight is 7.45pm and admission is by ticket only.

Supporters will be able to purchase tickets from the Club Shop priced at £7 adults and £5 concessions.

When purchasing tickets you will be required to provide contact details to ensure tracking and tracing is possible. There will be no parking inside the ground for supporters.
