Ogilby would love second crack at DC

DEFENDER David Ogilby believes if Institute are fortunate enough to get a play-off against Donegal Celtic to maintain their senior status, then he and his team-mates might be playing for their futures.

After drawing 1-1 against Coleraine last Friday night the Waterside men are now relying on Loughgall to give them a second chance of ensuring Carling Premiership football will be played at Drumahoe next season.

"To be honest if we do get a chance of a play-off then I honestly believe that we are all playing for our futures," he said.

"Unfortunately it's out of our hands and we are now hoping that Loughgall can win the league, so we get a chance of playing Donegal Celtic in a play-off."

Ogilby, who was part of the 'Stute squad which suffered relegation at the hands of the Belfast men in 2006, admits he would love another crack at DC.

"I know personally that was a massive disappointment for me and I would love another chance to try and put that right.

"There are still one or two other players in our dressing room who were part of that squad, while the likes of Gavin Cullen, Shaun Holmes and Tony Shields were part of the Finn Harps side who were relegated so they too know how bad it feels and they also don't want to suffer that feeling again.

"But at the minute all we can do is try and finish the season on a positive winning note when we play Newry City on Saturday (KO 3pm), because if we do hopefully get a play-off then I feel we need to be going into those two matches with a bit of momentum."

The Waterside men will be without Ryan Semple as he serves a one match ban, while Tony Shields and Kevin Ramsey are still missing.
