Ogilby's future still not decided

INSTITUTE centre-back David Ogilby has dismissed speculation that he's on the verge of signing for North West neighbours Coleraine.

Reports over the weekend stated that the Bannsiders were tracking trio Joe McCready, Kevin Ramsey and Ogilby, but the defender told Sentinel Sport that he hasn't spoken to any club since the season ended.

"I heard all the rumours myself, but I can tell everyone that the only club I have spoken to was Institute last week," admitted Ogilby.

"Yes I have heard a few things about Coleraine and Glentoran, but there has been nothing concrete from either club and I only signed a two year deal with 'Stute last season, so I'm still under contract with them for at least another season."

The Strathfoyle man, who is currently on holidays in Spain, acknowledges that he expects cuts to happen at Drumahoe, since the club's relegation to the Championship.

"I had a chat with John (Gregg) last week, but it was only a chat and I hope to talk to him again in much greater detail, about the plans he and the club have for the future, whenever I get back from my holidays."

Trio Sean Friars, Kevin Ramsey and Declan Divin have all been placed on the transfer list by the club.

Gregg held discussions with a number of players - Eamonn Seydak, Gavin Cullen, Ryan Semple and Ruairi Boyle - last Wednesday evening, as he starts preparations for life in Championship One.

Meanwhile at the club's recent Annual General Meeting, Trevor Hewitt was re-elected to the post of Chairman for his second term.

Vice Chairman is Keith McElhinney, Club Secretary, Stephen Spratt and Robert Scroggie is Assistant Treasurer and will carry out the duties of Treasurer until the post is filled.

The Chairman said the past year had been very difficult, both on the field and off and now is the time to stabilise the club, whilst attempting to compete at the top level of the Championship One with a vastly reduced budget.
