Old Boys look to move further clear

IT was a mixed day for North West clubs in the third round of the Coca Cola Irish Junior cup with two of the four sides going through.

Ardmore had a comfortable 5-0 home win over Finaghy while Ballykelly recorded a 7-2 win over Orchard Farm at Kings Lane.

Caw lost out by the odd goal of three in their home encounter with Kilrea while Eglinton were taken to penalties before losing at Killeavy United.

In the Premier Division, BBOB defeated Lincoln Courts 6-3 in the Waterside derby while Tullyally had a 2-0 win over Newbuildings Reserves, in the other game City Colts got a welcome 3-0 win over Drummond.

There are just three league games this Saturday because of the Sentinel Cup Final on Friday night.

Newbuildings United Reserves v Lincoln Courts

Both these two sides lost last week, Newbuildings once again were missing a number of regulars due to first team commitments and this has been their problem for a lot of the season.

The Courts will be smarting after their defeat by BBOB and if things don’t change very soon their slim title aspirations will be at an end, they may get a result here.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Tullyally Colts v Drummond

The Colts showed improved form last Saturday and if they can continue that then they should start moving up the table, they are a very difficult side to beat at home.

The Limavady men continue to struggle, they are creating chances but are not taking them and that has to be a big worry, this looks like another defeat.

Prediction: Tullyally Colts.

BBOB v Ballykelly

The Old Boys forwards were on fire last week scoring six but their management team must be a little concerned that they conceded three, with two of their main title rivals not playing it gives them an opportunity to open up a gap at the top.

Ballykelly are a more than useful side although they don’t always produce their best when they are on their travels, the Old Boys to win.

Prediction: BBOB.
