Olympic seal impressive win

LAST Saturday Cookstown Olympic made the long journey to Balnamore outside Ballymoney to play Finvoy and after a gritty performance came away with a good 3-1 victory.

The locals were slow to get started and Olympic piled on the early pressure and after 10 minutes Liam Mullan put Liam Hoy away on the right and he crossed for Declan Doherty who headed narrowly over.

Ten minutes later and Olympic thought they had scored as Conor O’Hare drove a shot past the Finvoy keeper which came off the underside of the bar and the official adjudged not to have crossed the line. On 25 minutes O’Hare though he had scored again with a placed drive to the right of the keeper but he pulled off a great save. Next on 32 minutes Doherty intercepted a clearance and squared for Ryan O’Neill but he miss hit his shot, while 4 minutes later it was Conor O’Hare from 20 yards who saw the Finvoy keeper pull off another great save.
