One in and one out at the Brandywell

A deal to bring striker Rory Patterson to the Brandywell moved a step closer today (Thursday).

Talks between Derry City, Linfield and Plymouth Argyle are thought to be at an advanced stage with the Northern Ireland international likely to sign on loan initially tomorrow.

With last season’s top scorer Eamon Zayed already away and the news that talks with striker Mark Farren have broken down, boss Declan Devine needs to move quickly by bringing in a top marksman.

Strabane man Patterson, who is currently on loan with the Blues from Plymouth, certainly would be a great addition to the Candy Stripes squad.

Although it looks like one man will be coming into the Brandywell, it’s believed that another man could be on his way out.

Much sought after left-back Danny Lafferty is holding talks with Championship side Burnley and although no deal is completed it’s thought that both chairmen have been in contact about a possible move.
