Parky puts a tough shift in

The Bannsiders boss highlighted Parkhill’s workrate and effort saying it was infectious for the rest of the team.

“Ian has been brilliant, the big thing he brings is pure ethusiasm and graft,” Kearney told Times Sport.

“I don’t care what anyone says, if you’re going to dig a hole and I go at the hole like a mad man with a spade, you’ll go at it like a mad man and so will the guy beside you.

“That mentality is infectious, he leads the line very well and gives it everything he has.”

It was Parkhill who won the penalty which led to Coleraine’s winner and Kearney said he was pleased that the striker listened to him at half time.

“Ian had a good opportunity in the first half but he tried to go around the guy and made it easy for the defender,” Kearney said.

“I spoke to him about it at half time and told him to try and ask the question of the defender, and in the penalty he could have tried to go round him, but this time he forced the defender to make the decision and he won the penalty.”

Kearney is now aiming to take the good form to Dungannon this Saturday.

“We’ll take a lot of confidence into the game at Dungannon. The aim will be no different than what is was in the last three weeks,” he added.
