The local footballing and wider community in Ballymena and Antrim was stunned by Shea’s sudden passing in January of this year.

The hugely popular Ballymena man had strong links with football in both towns, having recently managed Chimney Corner, while also coaching Ballymena Saturday Morning League side All Saints Old Boys.

Now, officials of Chimney Corner have remembered Shea’s contribution to the club by naming one of the function rooms at the club’s Allen Park ground in his memory.

The Shea Hamill Lounge was officially opened last week in a ceremony attended by Shea’s family, along with representatives of Chimney Corner and All Saints Old Boys.
