Public support welcomed by Glenavon

GLENAVON have publicly thanked those who responded to last month’s plea for vital donations.

Chairman Adrian Teer had appealed for the people of Lurgan to come out and make a financial contribution in order to keep Premier League football in the town.

The club have set a target of raising £15,000 in March and another £15,000 in April with £3,300 already raised after a night at the races, a quiz night and tickets for the end-of-season draw went on sale.

Teer said that, since the appeal featured in the Lurgan Mail a fortnight ago, the club have received significant donations, even coming in from abroad.

A statement on the club website said:

“The Club wishes to thank those that have already responded since the appeal was launched last week – those who have made a donation, signed up to Mourneview Needs You monthly, supported the night at races and the quiz.

“The board is encouraged with the support especially with Glenavon fans around the world chipping in towards a target of £15000 for March and the same for April.”

Donations to the club can be made by joining the Mourneview Needs You scheme and giving anything from £5 to £100 per month. Alternatively, you could sponsor a match, a match ball, the Man of the Match award or by purchasing a share in the club by speaking to any club director.

You can even make a one-off donation using the donate link on the club’s website (www.glenavonfc.com) or just buy a Glenavon lottery ticket every week.

Updates will be provided every week on how close the club are coming to their £30,000 target.
