Put the flags out!

Linfield are the visitors in what is sure to be a great spectacle at The Showgrounds.

Fans are encouraged to bring their flags/banners and display them in the ground on the day to add to the occasion and atmosphere of the game.

The owner of the flag/banner judged to be the best on display on the day will receive a cash prize of £25 donated by the Wes Gregg Coleraine Supporters Club and free admission for two persons to the next home game courtesy of Coleraine FC.

Please note only flags/banners that have specific reference to Coleraine FC can be displayed).

The winner will be announced at half time during the game.

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney is fully behind the idea and will be hoping the fans cheer his side on to a win, which could secure the Bannsiders a top six finish.

“At the start of the season our focus was on getting into the top six and we are very close now,” Kearney told Times Sport.

“I told the players on Friday night we wanted a win to move 20 points clear of our derby rivals and edge ever closer to securing a top six place.

“We have obviously had disappointments this season, our exits from both cup competitions were very frustarting, but I think if we had told anyone at the start of the season we would be closing in on securing a top six place with seven games left to play they would have laughed at us.

“We are within touching distance now and we have to make sure we get the job done.

“Our home form has been very good this season, but perhaps we haven’t taken the big scalps we should have.

“It will be another motivation for us to put that right 
on Saturday.”

Kearney also revealed he sent his players a message on Saturday night to remind them of what might have been.

“Obviously it was the League Cup final on Saturday evening,” he said.

“So around a quarter to nine I sent all the players a text saying we could have been pulling into The Showgrounds now with the trophy.

“The Ards game still weighs heavy on our minds and rightly so, but we have to use it as motivation now.

“We have to look at times like Saturday night and use disappointments like that as inspiration and learn from it.”
