The Right Worshipful the Mayor, Alderman William Leathem, said: “I am delighted that Coca Cola has sponsored this event and I would like to thank Coca Cola very much for doing so.

“This will be a perfect way for golfers to enjoy and support a good cause whilst playing golf.

“To date we only have one hole left for business sponsorship, but we would welcome any donations from local businesses and of course we would be delighted for golfers to come along and sign up for the Charity Golf Day.

“I would like to thank Gillian O’Brien from Coca-Cola for all her input to this event and I know Coca-Cola will hope to see plenty of funds raised for this local Lisburn charity and the very worthy work it does.

“I am also appreciative of all those businesses which have provided sponsorship of holes for the event.

“A big thank you also goes to Lisburn Golf Club for hosting this event,” said the Mayor.

Registration for the event at Lisburn Golf Club begins at 11am with a shotgun start at 12 noon. The price includes a bacon butty for each golfer before tee-off and a buffet dinner will also be served after all ‘four balls’ have completed the course.

There will also be a prize-giving ceremony and a ballot will take place after the event, with many prizes, including a signed golf-bag from World number three Justin Rose. This fantastic prize has been donated to the Mayor’s Charity Golf Day by Mr Andy Morris.

Tickets for the ballot can be obtained in advance from the Mayor’s Office. It is possible for people to enter the ballot and have the opportunity of winning the golf bag without having to actually participate in the event itself.

The Mayor said: “I want to raise as much money as possible for my Mayoral Charity, Stepping Stones, so I would encourage people to purchase ballot tickets from my office.

“Whether you buy £1 or £10-worth of tickets you could win this much sought-after golfing bag and of course you will be contributing to Stepping Stones my Mayoral Charity. Please contact my office in advance as payment will be required for tickets.”

The Mayor’s Office can be contacted on 028 9250 9331.
