Quartet head for Inver Park exit door

Larne boss Davy McAlinden has confirmed that four players are heading for the exit door at Inver Park, for a variety of reasons.

Defenders Ross Black and William Wharry, striker Peter Duffin and ‘keeper Chris Keenan won’t feature for the club next season.

“Ross has left,” McAlinden said. “He lives down Dungannon direction and wants to be a bit closer to home, while William Wharry is also leaving. When I originally spoke to him about his situation, he was unsure what to do. But now that we have strengthened in defence, he would be dropping further down the pecking order, so he has gone.”

“Peter Duffin, the forward who came from Ballymena United in January, wants more team time and he feels he will get it elsewhere.

“And goalkeeper Chris Keenan is unable to commit himself to Larne because of work commitments and he is considering his options. He won’t feature for Larne next season and may go elsewhere where the involvement will fit in better with his work.”

McAlinden has been busy bringing players to Larne over the past month with goalkeeper John Connolly, left-back Ross Davison, wide player Thomas Robinson, central defenders Stuart McMullan and Michael McClean, right-back Owen Thompson, midfielder Eoin Gillan and centre-forward Ciaran Murray arriving.
