Rangers sign Welders’ midfielder Dickson

Carrick Rangers have signed Andrew Dickson from Harland and Wolff Welders.

The 29-year-old has spent the last four seasons at Tillysburn park where he won a series of honours including the Steel and Sons Cup and the Championship Two title.

The midfielder is Michael Hughes’ eighth summer signing and his experience could prove to be a real asset as the club aims to bounce straight back to the Carling Premiership at the first time of asking.

Rangers’ assistant manager, Colin Telford, told the club’s official website: “After tracking Dicksy for the last six months, we are delighted to get his signature.

“We had spoken to him in January but, at that time, he felt that he wanted to see out his contract at the Welders. Dicksy will be another player that will bring a great wealth of experience to our squad.”
