The ethos of Rathfriland Football Club Youth is to provide an opportunity for all children, boys and girls from five to 17 to play and enjoy the game of football whether it’s at our training sessions or for if selected for a team.

In doing so they aim to promote the health and well being of the children involved, whilst also ensuring they have the opportunity to become the best they possibly can be, in a safe and friendly environment.

The club has 15 IFA qualified coaches who coach and manage nine teams.

The younger teams play in the IFA Games Development Centre in Newry, U11 to U17s in the Mid-Ulster Youth League.

“We have entered seven teams in the Mid - Ulster Youth League for the 14/15 season with the aim of developing our young local talent to play in the senior teams of the future,” he said.

“Players of all ages would be very welcome to join the various squads.

Lindsay concluded by saying: “we would love to see more young talent come through the gates of the club on Wednesday nights so if anyone would like to come along and try out for a team they will be made very welcome by our coaching team.”
