Red Star progress in Shield
CARRICK’S Red Star qualified for the second round of the Co Antrim Junior Shield competition with a 5-2 home win over Bryansburn Rangers.
Darren Sloan opened the scoring for Red Star, who play in the Ballymena and Provincial League,
Bryansburn equalised before Sloan netted again and Jon McMullan added the third.
The visitors reduced the arrears before half-time, but Noel O’Connor made sure of victory with two second-half scores.
