Relegation for Glebe Rangers after they fall at the final hurdle

It was a roller coaster of emotions for Glebe Rangers fans on Saturday.

Dollingtown were the visitors to the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in the final Championship Two game of the season.

A win would have secured Glebe’s future in Championship two, and certainly at half time it looked like and Jason Wilmont’s men would remain there, being 3-0 in front.

However a change in fortunes in the second half saw Glebe slipping up, allowing Dollingstown to get back into the game, running out 4-3 winners.

Speaking to Times Sport, Wilmont said: “I don’t think I will ever get over it to be honest,” Wilmont told Times Sport.

“It was a real kick in the teeth for us, it’s devastating for everyone. Unfortunately that’s football, it’s why we love the game.

“You have to take the highs and the lows.

“But we will learn from this experience that’s for sure. Our aim will be to win whatever league we play in next season and get back up to Championship Two again.”

The club’s committee with meet tonight (Tuesday) to finalise where the team will play next season.
