Reserves dominate 10-man Annagh

Annagh were down to 10 men before the game kicked off with Pentland being shown a red card.

The opening goal came nine minutes into the match when an exquisite first time ball from John McCahon curled around the centre half with Andy Mallen controlling before executing a superb finish into the top corner from 20 yards.

Annagh capitalised with left back Nathan Riddle being given a free run down the left hand side and he volleyed in well to level the scores.

Riddle was allowed to overlap without tracking only three minutes later and picked his cross and Annagh took an unexpected lead.

Annagh went 3-1 in front on 41 minutes as they took control of proceedings all over the park with their tricky Portuguese right winger doing a Ronaldinho before finishing low into the corner.

Within two minutes of the restart Rangers pulled a goal back with Aaron Chambers cooly finishing from six yards after Annagh failed to deal with a free kick into the box.

The game drew level when Richie McMinn made a run to the front post and controlled an outswinging free kick on the chest before drilling low with a left footed shot on the turn.

McMinn had his lip bust in an aerial collision but the referee was checking to see whether to stop play and missed an offside. Annagh’s right winger capitalised on a spilled ball from the keeper.

McMinn was a man on a mission and in a carbon copy of his first goal he made a darting run to the front post to pick up a low free kick. He dropped the shoulder before swivelling onto his left foot and took a touch away from a potential block before rifling the ball into the top corner out of the reaches of Annagh Reserve keeper Ivon Blevins.
