In a scrappy first half Coagh regained the lead through Jamie Holmes only to find themselves 3-2 down at the interval after giving away two soft goals.

Coagh improved in the second half, moving the ball better and creating more chances.

Jonny Johnson had a good chance inside the first five minutes of the half, Coagh got their reward when Andrew Creighton equalised and then crossed for Holmes who finished well at the back post to give Coagh the win.

With 4-5 players missing and 4 youth players playing their part, Coagh made an encouraging start to pre-season and hope to build on this.

“We had an excellent first half but today we used a lot of players especially in the second half,” he said.

“With five youth team players used throughout in looks well for the future.

“Our next match is on Saturday 27th July against Moneyslane Res 2-15pm kick off.”
