Reserves still in fine form

BANBRIDGE Rangers Reserves continued their pre season warm up in impressive fashion with a 5-1 over Lurgan Town Reserves at Cheney Park on Friday evening.

It was déjà vu for Andy Frazer’s side who went down a goal early on before coming back to reply with five as they had done in the previous weeks game against Armagh Blues.

Lurgan Town’s lead, after they opened the scoring on 20 minutes, didn’t last long as Banbridge Rangers equalised with a thunderbolt shot from centre half Peter Dean who drifted forward to receive a lateral pass from a McCahon free kick which was expected to be curled into the box.

Rangers took the lead on 38 minutes through John McCahon who picked up a quick throw and played a neat one two with Paul Frazer before beating the onrushing defender and curling his shot into the far top corner.

In the second half Banbridge Rangers were in complete control and never gave their opponents a minutes peace when in possession. John McCahon scored his second five minutes into the half slotting home at the back post after the keeper could only parry a Wilson shot.

Alex Cairns impressed again as a second half substitute and slotted coolly past the Lurgan keeper with 20 minutes left on the clock.

The fifth and final goal was scored by Aaron Chambers who used his quick feet to evade a challenge before stroking into the bottom corner.
