As for Arsenal, I simply wish Arsene Wenger for once would just admit his side were beaten comprehensively. After the game he groaned about the penalty which allowed Swansea to draw level. Dyer bamboozled the Arsenal defence and yes his collapse may have been a bit theatrical but it was a mistake by Ramsay to put his foot out.

I really do fear for Arsenal if they lose the talents of Robin Van Persie in the summer. At times he is carrying the side and is winning games by himself. If the Gunners fail to finish in the top four then do not be surprised to see Van Persie head to Spain to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

It was yet another frustrating home performance for Liverpool at the weekend. Like Arsenal and Van Persie, Liverpool seem incapable of posing any attacking threat without the controversial Luis Suarez.

Kenny Dalglish surprised everyone by selecting Dirk Kuyt up front on his own against Stoke. Stoke are a poor side away from home and these are the sort of games Liverpool must be winning to have any chance of Champions League qualification.

Everyone has their opinion on Andy Carroll at the moment. Waste of money? I certainly think so. Carroll will simply never fit into the way Dalglish wants Liverpool to play. He is a centre forward who thrives on whipped crosses into the box at every opportunity. Alan Pardew had him looking like a world beater at Newcastle where the team tailored their style of play to allow the big Geordie to thrive.

The way Liverpool play at the moment does not suit Carroll. Heads rolled at the hasty signing of the enigmatic Geordie. In my opinion he joins a lengthy list of Anfield flops like Sean Dundee, Djbril Cisse and Florent Sinama Pongolle!
