Second time lucky for Matt Morrison Junior ties

The weather wreaked havoc with fixtures in the Matt Morrison Junior Cup last Saturday, those games that were postponed will weather permitting go ahead this week.

In the games that did take place Lincoln Courts were the days biggest winners scoring seven without reply against Douglas Bridge.

Ardmore travelled to Roe Rovers Reserves and won 5-0. Maghera Strollers got the better of Irish Street by the odd goal of 5. Churchill were no match for Coleraine side the Heights going down 5-0.

Along with the Junior Cup ties there is one Premier Division game this Saturday.

Premer Division

Lincoln Courts v Ardmore

There are always plenty of thrills when these two old rivals meet, the Courts look like being the only side that can mount any sort of challenge to runaway leaders BBOB but they can’t afford any slip ups.

Ardmore after a disappointing defeat by Donemana bounced back in the Junior Cup last Saturday and are targeting this competition, 12 goals were scored between both sides last week so this could end in a high scoring draw.

Glebe United v Newbuildings Utd Res

The home side are a bit of an unknown quantity however they do have home advantage, they are reportedly a big physical side with ground conditions to suit.

Newbuildings have returned after the break with some poor performances, if they can get their full strength side out they may go through.

Artigarvan v Tullyally

The home side have struggled in the second division for most of the season, they are mostly an all local side who always give it their best shot.

Tullyally could be the dark horses in this competition, they play some excellent football and they have shown many times this season that they are a match for anyone in the Premier Division.

Second Division Dromore take on Premier Division side Caw, they are having an average season in the league but they will be looking for a scalp here.

Caw showed a good attitude in their recent defeat and with Glenn Watson taking over as manager they will be looking for a change of fortune.

Glendermott v Claudy United

This all First Division clash should provide plenty of thrills, the home side are in the hunt for promotion and they are a more than useful side.

United have had a reasonably settled side over the last few seasons and they play with great determination.

BBOB v Lisahally

This one on paper looks like a home banker, the Old Boys are going for a clean sweep of trophies and are on course to do just that.

However Lisahally are an excellent side and are full of talented and experienced players, they certainly are capable of playing in the top flight, plenty of goals look guaranteed.
