Second win in two weeks for U15s

THE U15 side enjoyed another success on Saturday in what was their first home game since the Valley rangers defeat six weeks ago.

Coming into the match after gaining their first points of the season away to Dromore last week the young lads were confident of Victory if the attitude was right.

The locals were beginning to find their way into the match when
disaster struck and Rathfriland were reduced to 10 with the keeper recieving his marching orders for a late challenge outside the box.

The second half commenced with the lads really intent on taking the match to their opponents and soon had themselves in front when Bailie was played through and he coolly slotted the ball past the big keeper to deservedly give the locals the advantage.

Rathfriland finally doubled their lead when McConnville combined well down the right hand side with Bailie and the latter squared for Byrne for a simple tap in to seal the points.

Lurgan pushed hard in the final ten minutes to get back into the match but the locals battled hard and held on for their second win in two weeks.

Next up to visit Iveagh Park are Seagoe U15 this Saturday with a 10.30 kickoff.
