Seven junior teams in action

BANBRIDGE Rangers had games for youth teams at seven different age groups over the course of last weekend with only the Under 18s involved in a competitive fixture.

The U14s got the ball rolling with a 3-1 over Iveagh Thistle at the Tech with goals from David Barr, Jonny Bryson and Simon McAllister.

The U18s took on Hillsborough at Scarva Park and went down 6-3 with Jordan McCracken adding two more goals to his impressive early season tally off five goals in two games.

There was a double header at the Tech on Saturday morning with the U12s defeating Moira Albion 3-2 with Luke Brown scoring twice and Josh Crawford netting a superb third goal.

This was followed by the Under 11s who also played Moira Albion and came away with a 3-0 victory thanks to two well taken goals from Eddie Tucker and a third from Luke Brown.

At Cheney Park Moneyslane were the visitors with three matches going on at the same time at different age groups with managers Mark Wilson, Ivan Kerr and Mark Rice all seeing their teams come away with wins and some impressive performances.

The U10s had Seren Jones and Adam Wilson grab a goal each with Adam Knox scoring a hattrick with keeper Josh Clarke keeping yet another clean sheet.

In the other two games at the younger age groups there were numerous scorers for both team with Banbridge Rangers goals coming from Joshua Rice, Llwyd Jones, Matthew Hampton, Nathan Kerr, Aaron Knox, Evan Anderson and Harry McKinstry.

This was a good mornings football for all the kids ahead off the recommencement of the Mid Ulster GDC this Saturday. Thanks to Moneyslane, Iveagh Thistle and Moira Albion for providing the opposition over the weekend.
