Seventh heaven for Donemana

Although the game started very poorly with neither side creating any chances Donemana manager Ronnie McCombe switched over both wingers Kyle Dougherty and Jason Milligan to see if they could make any inroads through the Churchill defence.
A few minutes later the switch paid when Dougherty darted down the right wing, crossed the ball low into the penalty area where Gareth McCombe rifled it into the roof of the net.

The goal appeared to give The Blues a new lease of life and minutes later they doubled their lead when Dougherty again whipped the ball in on top of the Churchill keeper for Lee Gibson to head home.

The visitors pushed looking for a goal and when their striker slipped on the edge of the 18 yard box Steven Dunn took full advantage gathering up the ball and charging upfield beating two defenders before sliding home Donemana’s third goal.

However a United defender cleared the ball of the line but the referee adjudged the ball over the line and awarded the goal much to the disgust of the United keeper who protested rather too strongly and was eventually given a red card.

Donemana took full advantage of the extra man and bombarded the Churchill defence with Ross Campbell sending Milligan through only for him to put it wide of the post.

Just before half-time a long throw was headed home by Gibson 4-0 and on 55 minutes Milligan crossed the ball from the right hand side where Dougherty slammed it into the net giving the keeper no chance.

At 5-0 up McCombe had a great opportunity to introduce two of his youngsters, bringing on Joe Robinson and Steven Blee to make their debut for the first team.

Robinson got involved early and gave the ball to Dougherty who drove it low onto the penalty where Gibson slotted it home to complete his hat-trick.

To their credit Churchill pulled one back on the 75 minutes after a mix up in midfield but after the restart Milligan ran straight up the field crossed the ball in and it was turned into the net by a Churchill defender.

Meanwhile Donemana Reserves once again gave away a 1-0 lead before losing 3-1 at Dromore, with Timmy Doughety scoring for Donemana.
