Shortlist for Town job aslocal emphasis is wanted

A shortlist has been drawn up for the vacant manager’s job at Banbridge Town - as it emerges former boss Brian Adair has signed as a player for Lisburn Distillery.

Club chairman, Andrew Cully, confirmed that the club has met to discuss who they would like to sit in the hot-seat, and added that he has received approaches from a number of managers al
ready.

“Almost immediately after we announced Brian’s
departure we had a number of calls from people interested in the job, some of whom are former managers of teams in the Championship,” he said.

“We also have our own ideas about who we would like. I think we need to inject a local flavour into the club, someone who can attract the best local players and who can get the best out of those who we have.”

Adair, whose signing for the Whites was confirmed last week, left the club two weeks ago.

Amongst those rumoured to be interested in his old job are former Rathfriland manager Alan Frazer and his assistant, Glenavon legend Stevie McBride who left the club last week, however Mr Cully said no approach had been made to them or
received.
