Rangers came out of the blocks quickly and piled on the pressure from the start and were 1-0 up within the first five minutes. Matty Dodds scored his first of the season with Danny McCallen squaring the ball to Matty outside the box and blasted the ball into the bottom corner with his trusty left foot.

Rangers had chances to double the lead but the Dungannon keeper pulled off some great saves.

The breakthrough for the second goal came midway through the first half when Matthew Smylie crossed the ball from the left to the back post where David Barr squared the ball perfectly for Andrew Trimble to finish into an open net. The second half started brightly for Rangers and soon got their third goal when Reuben Cobb scored his third goal in two games from a corner.

The ball was whipped in and punched high by the Dungannon keeper only for Reuben to out jump every player and head the ball over the reach of the keeper into the top corner.

Rangers then got a fourth when Jamie Carson played a perfect ball through for Matthew Smylie who beat the offside trap before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball home.

Dungannon heads dropped and Rangers started to control all aspects of the game and were only put under pressure on the counter attack. A fifth goal came from Jason Treanor who scored on his competitive debut for the club.

Jason lost the ball just outside the box but battled the ball back, lifted his head and struck the ball sweetly from 25yards out into the bottom corner.

Rangers scored their final goal when Bradley Harper ran down the left, took on his marker and got inside box and crossed the ball to the feet of Alex Cochrane who composed himself in front of goal and smashed the ball past the keeper.
