Doubles from Michael Moore and Ryan Kane, together with a strike from Andy Waide and an own goal, gave the Islanders another valuable three points.

Boss Stephen Donald was cautious ahead of the visit of the team propping up the Premier Division table. He choose his words wisely before of what, on paper at least, looked like a home banker for his young side.

“I’m hopeful, more than confident, going into this one,” he said. “If we play the way we played on Saturday (a 1-0 win over Comber Rec), we will be OK.”

He may have been playing down his side’s chances, but, as it transpired, he had no need to do so.

Saturday’s comprehensive result not only saw his young guns collect their second clean sheet in a row, it moved them up the table to 10th place on eight points, with a trio of sides just two points ahead of them.

It was former Lisburn Distillery man Moore who broke the deadlock with just 10 minutes on the clock. Andy Waide’s incisive pass put him one-on-one with the keeper and Moore nonchalantly dinked the ball over him.

There was a role reversal five minutes later as Moore turned provider for Andy Waide to find the bottom corner, doubling the home team’s advantage.

Dromara added a third for Island courtesy of an own goal, before Ryan Kane added number four, finishing from a tight angle, eight minutes into the second session.

With 20 minutes remaining, Moore rattled the post and Ryan Kane was on hand to knock in the rebound.

Kieran Kane’s header looked to be bound for the back of the net, but Moore made sure helping it over the line to hit Dromara for six.
