Slane U11s pull off win

MONEYSLANE U11s played Valley Rangers last Saturday morning in the Carnbane League.

Slane started the better of the both teams with early chances from Megaw and Davis only for the keeper to pull off some great saves.

Valley took the lead after ten minutes with a well worked goal and a well executed finish.

Slane took the game to Valley and created more chances. The equaliser eventually came with a goal mouth scramble, the ball fell to the feet of Moorhead hit a fierce shot that took a deflection of the defender and into the net.

Slane soon went ahead after a series of corners from relentless pressure; Crawford whipped the ball in with power and it went straight into the goal past the keeper.

Valley drew level when their number five broke free to equalize just before the half/

The second half started brightly with Slane taking the game to Valley and we’re soon in front when Davis found Megaw free inside the box and she placed it in the bottom corner.

Slane pressurised the Valley defence and Crawford was unlucky with two headers that just sailed over the bar but the wee men soon killed off Valley when he found Moorhead. He crossed deep into the box and it was met by Davis to make it four.

A great result for Slane to keep the pressure on at the top. Man of the match - Joshua Crawford .
