Someplayers confidence is low

Institute boss Paul Kee feels that certain players’ off the field activities are starting to catch up with them.

Kee also believes confidence is low with some individuals in the team, but he isn’t going to start caning his players.

“There is one or two people coming in with baggage and there’s people with work problems, social problems and it’s coming into our play,” he acknowledged.

“Although prior to the game (at Ballyclare) the boys were buoyant in the changing room, unfortunately when they went out onto the pitch there was a fear factor, we do have five or six players who are playing with low confidence and you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see who they are.

“But I’m not going to beat them up, however at the same time I am concerned because this has happened for four or five weeks and we have been able to crawl back into matches, but at Ballyclare it was a bridge too far for us.”

Another man who probably is in Kee’s black book, is Darren McCauley.

The midfielder was dismissed after using foul language to the referee’s assistant, however the ’Stute manager feels his player could have just had a telling off from referee David Walker.

“We have established that he has used foul language to the assistant and that was one of his first games as an assistant and he has got him sent-off, now if he’s going to send him off for that, then he’s going to have to send players off every week.”
