The players obviously devastated with recent events and the loss of Dylan from the team sent out a clear message by wearing vests before kick off wishing him a speedy recovery.

Visitors Antrim Rovers very kindly passed on their best wishes to Dylan which was gratefully received by his family.

Right from kick off it was clear that the boys were in determined mood and the large crowd didn’t long to wait for the opening goal. From a corner on 15 minutes big William Allen got his head on the cross at the near post giving the Antrim goalkeeper no chance.

The lead was extended on 25 minutes when Leon Bonnes controlled neatly in the box before firing high into the net.

Southside were in total control of the game and Josh McCready made it 3-0 when he executed a perfect volley from the edge of the penalty area which flew in off the underside of the crossbar.

Dylan Hamill looking lively for Southside on the right midfield area made it 4-0 when his well hit effort from just inside the penalty area made its way through a crowded Antrim defence and into the corner of the net.

The second half began with Southside showing complacency as a result of the 4-0 lead. Failure to deal with a Antrim attack allowed the visitors a long range shot which flew into the bottom of the Southside goal.

Ryan Corrigan was fed a perfect pass by Josh McCready through the middle of the Antrim defence and he calmly slotted home number 5 on 65 minutes.
