Sproule felt old club deserved draw

Linfield’s goalscorer on Saturday Ivan Sproule felt his old club Institute deserved a share of the spoils.

The former Northern Ireland international conceded he was frustrated at the final whistle but he admitted that their first 45 minutes at Drumahoe was the best football they have played this season.

“I know it’s an old cliché but I think it was a game of two halves but that was probably the best we played all season in the first half,” he stated.

“I suppose at half-time there looked like there was only going to be one winner then but that’s football for you, we came out after the break and didn’t perform and Stute were well worthy of their draw.”
