Stand-in Manager John Fall had emphasised the importance of getting a win before the game and as a result Ballymoney looked the more hungry from the start.

United’s cause was helped when Killymoon had Johnny Young sent off on 13 minutes when he was guilty of a reaction after he was tackled.

Ballymoney took the lead on 36 minute through Gerard Gillan when he scored from a left wing cross.

Ballymoney made the extra man advantage count in the second half and made it 2-0 on 55 minutes with Gillan scoring his second from a corner kick.
