Storey welcomes Senior Women’s Football team
The Northern Ireland Senior Women’s Football team were welcomed to the Northern Ireland Assembly before they played Belgium in their final Euro 2013 qualifier.
North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey took time out to welcome the team among them some locals, including Alison Nicholl team coach who is from Stranocum and forward Alison Smyth.
Commenting Mervyn Storey said: “I was pleased to be able to meet with the team, although reaching the finals is mathematically not possible it has been a really encouraging campaign for the girls. Earlier this year they beat Norway who are ranked 12th in the world. I wish them well for future campaigns.”
