Strollers two wins away from title

THE North West Junior soccer season is drawing to an end with just a couple of trophies to be handed out. Last Friday night Eglinton were deserved winners of the City Cup when they defeated Ardmore.

Damien McGee’s side have another final this Friday night when they play Lincoln Courts in the Matt Morrison Junior Cup Final.

There are a couple of important league games to be played tonight Wednesday and also on Saturday with Premier leaders Maghera Strollers in action both days.

Wednesday

Maghera Strollers v Greysteel

The Strollers after their two wins last week have the Premiership destiny in their own hands, they have two home games in a row and it would be a major shock if they were to drop points in them.

Greysteel are merely fulfilling the fixture and may not be at full strength due to work commitments.

Prediction: Maghera Strollers.

Roe Rovers v Dungiven Reserves

Pride only at stake in this one the Limavady men got to the City Cup semi final and look like finishing in the top four in the league they will be disappointed to have not won something.

Dungiven will look back on this season as been a learning process with a number of young players coming through, this may end all square.

Prediction: Score Draw.

Saturday

Maghera Strollers v Burndennett

Depending on Wednesdays result the Strollers may be celebrating, they had a lot of home games postponed earlier in the season and now they are finishing up with that big home advantage.

The ’Dennett are not good travellers although they have had a disappointing season they will still give 100 per cent that shouldn’t be enough.

Prediction: Maghera Strollers.
