'Stute want to re-sign Parky

INSTITUTE manager John Gregg is hopeful that the club can strike some sort of deal with out-of-contract striker Stephen Parkhouse and also concedes that Mark Scoltock's departure to Derry City won't be the last player out the exit door at Drumahoe, during this month's transfer window.

In fact it's thought that Austin Friel and Paul Brown could be on their way out, with title chasing Cliftonville believed to be tracking the Limavady man.

"Parky has been nothing short of great, the lad has been working everyday and hopefully we can get something sorted out with him," he said.

"I only knew Stephen Parkhouse whenever he came to me, I watched him whenever he played for Finn Harps, but as a lad he deserves a tremendous amount of credit because he has worked far harder than what people can see; he knows he physically needs to shift a bit but that will come.

"Because of the situation with no games taking place then it has been hard for clubs to make any financial bids for some of my players, I know that a few clubs have made enquiries about certain players, but as I have said it has been difficult because they haven't had any revenue coming in," he said.

"Although it has been very quiet at the minute, I believe there's going to be more movement in the next week or so. Having said that we aren't letting players go just because of our budget, but because I have young Graham Crown who has started nine times in the first team and you have to think ahead about these things.

"I also have young Joe McCreadie who will be coming into the first team panel soon and he looks like he's going to be lively, so it's not just about the budget it's about freeing up space so that we can bring more young players into the first team.

"We know it's not going to be easy but we are trying to do things that will benefit the club in the long term."
