’Stute’s O’Flynn picks up player of the month award

Institute striker Stephen O’Flynn deservedly picked up the NIFWA Championship Player of the Month for February yesterday.

The talented Cork native has netted nine goals in five games for the Waterside men, before picking up a groin injury recently.

O’Flynn has scored a lot of crucial goal during that run, none more so that his winner at the then Championship One leaders Bangor.

Boss Paul Kee has been delighted by his January signing since he moved to the club.

“He has been playing with confidence, he’s scored nine goals in five games and his goals is one of the reasons why we are on this run.

“He scored another fantastic opportunist goal at Bangor – he nipped in, got it off the keeper and then finished it well.

“On and off the pitch Stephen has been great and hopefully he’ll be back sooner rather than later.”
