Swifts match is crucial, says Small

Carrick Rangers boss Stephen Small has described Saturday’s Carling Premiership match against Dungannon Swifts at Seaview as a crucial fixture.

“There’s a four-team mini-league down at the foot of the table and we simply must not lose to any of the other three teams in that mini-league.

“Dungannon are a hard-working team that’s full of energy and they have a manager who believes in his players and urges them to play the game as it should be played. They almost took a point away from Windsor Park on Saturday and you can’t give them a better recommendation than that.

“But we know we can get a result at Seaview and, while we will be flat-out to win, a draw would not be disastrous. As I have said, we need to avoid defeat in these mini-league games and I’ll be quite happy if we achieve that and continue to be involved a four-cornered fight.

“We are definitely good enough to achieve that, at least,” added the determined Rangers boss.
