'˜Take nothing for granted' says Whites boss

Colin McIlwaine says his side will have to execute their game-plan 'to perfection' to win this weekend.

The Whites face Rosario in the first round of the Irish Cup at New Grosvenor tomorrow (Saturday, kick off 1.30pm), and McIlwaine knows it will not be an easy task for his side.

“This is the first year we have had to go into the Irish Cup in the first round, so there is a long way to go to get to the fifth round,” the boss said.

“We’ll give it everything we have to get through and stay in the cup.

“But it will be a tough game, Rosario will be out to win and we can take nothing for granted.

“We have to set our game plan and execute it to perfection to stay in the competition.”

McIlwaine’s men began life in the Premier Intermediate League on Tuesday night with a 2-2 draw at Bangor, but the boss was left ruing his side letting a two goal lead slip.

“It’s a hard one to swallow,” McIlwaine said. “We produced a great performance and to be 2-0 up with seven minutes left on the clock and not see the game out is disappointing.

“We deserved to win, Bangor know they were lucky to get a point. The best thing we can do is to learn from the experience.”
