The winger has joined Dungannon Swifts after having his Showgrounds contract terminated by mutual consent.

Teggart had a year remaining on his contract but has been allowed to leave after citing travelling difficulties.

Manager Glenn Ferguson said: “Between work commitments and moving to a new home further away from Ballymena, the travelling was too much for Ally.

“I understand his decision and regretfully agreed to let him go.”

“It’s not an easy decision leaving a club you enjoy - and a decision that has no bearing on Ballymena as a football club,” said Teggart, who scored 29 goals in 160 appearances, after being signed by previous manager Roy Walker.

Teggart’s departure - along with the expected confirmation of goalkeeper Tim Allen’s exit - makes him the tenth player from last year’s squad to leave Ballymena this summer as Ferguson seeks to refresh his panel.

Allen has returned to his native Australia but plans to move to England to seek full-time football next season.

So far Ferguson has signed only goalkeeper Alan Blayney and midfielder Mark Magennis, while youngsters Matthew Shevlin, Leroy Millar, Eoin Kane and Matthew Ferguson have been promoted to the first team squad.
