The Dons set for first final since ‘94

THE Dons FC are preparing for their first Cup final since 1994, when they will take on Cookstown Celtic in the Magee Cup Final on Friday March 8 at Crewe United, with an 8pm kick off.

The Dons, who play in the Mid Ulster League, played in the old Lisburn League when they formed in 1991.

Managed by Don McMahon for 22 years, The Dons previously competed in the final of the Leader Shield, which they lost 4-1.

They will be hoping to go one better this time around.

Don McMahon said: “All the lads are looking forward to it. We’re going to give it our best and enjoy the occasion.”
