The kids are alright, insists boss Ferguson

GLENN Ferguson has vowed to keep putting his faith in Ballymena United’s youngsters between now and the end of the season.

The absence of a number of players gave Ferguson the opportunity to blood a number of youngsters in Saturday’s win against Glentoran, including a first start for winger Jamie Davidson and a debut from the bench for Ahoghill teenager Corey Price, who came on for the last 10 minutes.

“We knew there were some good young players at the club and we said if they’re good enough they’re old enough,” said Ferguson.

“Personnel dictated they were in the squad on Saturday because there were so many out.

“There’s no point bringing them along if you’re not confident enough to put them in.

“I could have put Conor Downey on and shifted someone else up out to the left but Corey Price plays on the left and he enjoyed it. It’s always good to make your debut but against Glentoran at the Oval is extra special.

“The youngsters still have lot to learn but they did a good job for us,” added Ferguson.
