The only way is up

COLERAINE FC continues to grow on and off the pitch.

Director Nevin Oliver confirmed that attendance figures for this season placed the Bannsiders as the third best supported team in the league.

“It’s pleasing for us to see that we are only just behind Linfield and Glentoran in terms of average attendances,” he said.

“When we visit away grounds other directors always make reference to our support. In fact there have been times this season when our support was bigger than the Glens.”

Fellow director Willie McNabb also praised the fans.

“We have fantastic support here,” he said. “On match days so many of them give up there time to volunteer for us.

“They follow us in large numbers all over the country. In fact I think if we had to play on the South Island of New Zealand there would be fans come and support us.

“It’s very encouraging to see the large number of young supporters coming to the club and also at the Academy.

“This is building foundations for the future…it’s all very positive.”
