Thistle make it six league wins in a row

IVEAGH Thistle came into this match against Bangor outfit Castle Juniors in top form having won their last five matches in the George Best U12 league.

From the off they started with real intent with busy strikers Carroll and Cairns creating panic amongst the Castle defence.

On six minutes after a series of well struck corners by Woods the first goal arrived when one of his whipped balls was flicked by the head of a Castle defender into the net to send Thistle one up.  The second goal followed on twelve minutes with a Woods pass and a well-timed Cairns run putting him in on goal and no mistake was made with his clinical finish.

Thistle continued to dominate play and went close on several occasions and would have added to the tally had it not been for the excellent Castle keeper.

The third arrived before half time when Carroll beat his man and played a killer ball to Cairns who scored his second.

After the break Thistle continued to push hard and when McCavitt got his foot on the end of a goalmouth scramble he make it 4-0 and ended the game  as a contest.  A ‘Messi’ like run and finish from Carroll made it 5-0 with 10 minutes remaining much to the joy of the management and on looking team sponsor Simon Mooney of Mooney Media.

Moments before the final whistle Moore made it six with an angled shot to the corner to round off an excellent team performance.
