The Puritans boss feels there is an air of expectancy and, perhaps, a blasé attitude amongst some supporters this season.

United head to Cirenester Town for Saturday’s Evo-Stik Southern League clash on the back of a 4-1 success at St Neots Town on Tuesday.

The Puritans are now up to sixth in the premier division and Ford said: “We’re on 28 points now and there are several teams in this division who would be delighted to be where we are.

“We should go to Cirencester on Saturday looking to get another good result. We’ve only lost one game in nine but we shouldn’t take anything for granted.

“We should all try and enjoy these victories more. We’re a new group in a new division and every three points we pick up should be cherished.

“We’ve taken time to settle, with new players and new systems, so we shouldn’t be too disappointed when we lose games. Sometimes teams are going to be better than us.

“But sometimes it feels we are come to these grounds and some fans just expect us to turn up and get the three points. We need to get the feel-good factor back at this club.”
