‘Time we beat

They have never beaten bogey-team Sport and Leisure Swifts in five Championship Two matches, losing twice.

The Belfast side visit Crystal Park on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 2pm) challenging for the league title and off the back of a narrow 3-2 win at Comber Rec in the Intermediate Cup.

It’s the clash of two in-form sides and Town boss Ryan Watson is hoping his side can finally beat the West Belfast men.

“They seem to be a bogey team for us,” he said.

“They’re a strong team and have added some quality to their squad as well.

“They’re a team in form and they have been for most of the season. They’ve had a few highs of cup semi-finals and different things so it’s going to be a very tough game for us

“It’s about time we got one over on them and it’s a good time to do it.

“We’re going into this one with a bit of confidence and in good form ourselves. It all makes for a good game but we’re at home and we want to get all three points.

“We’re unbeaten so far this year and we want to keep that going. It’s all about getting another three points on Saturday.”

The Swifts are currently fifth in the table but challenging for the title. Town, meanwhile, are just hoping to lift themselves further clear of the relegation dog-fight and could go 10th with a win.

Watson has another selection dilemma after defender Marty Buchanan was sent-off in the Intermediate Cup win over Derriaghy CC on Saturday.

“We have a few options of what we can do. John Murphy could come in there or we could shuffle things around,” he said.

“We want to get a good second half of the season now after things were so stop-start in the first half with injuries and suspensions and things. Hopefully we can keep our run going.”
