Tobermore return pointless from Institute

Institute 3 – 2 Tobermore United.

TOBERMORE United travelled to Drumahoe on Friday evening and, after an eventful game, returned pointless.

The home side bossed the majority of the first half and went in at the break 2 goals up but Tobermore put in a completely different shift in the second half and they will consider themselves very unfortunate not to get something out of the game.

Danny Gardner posted his intent early in the second half when he fired narrowly wide but found the back of the net with a well taken penalty with 53 minutes gone to put Tobermore right back into the frame

Stute soon after were down to 10 men when Semple was shown a strait red for an off the ball incident with Stuart Miller.

Tobermore were the better side as the second half progressed but they were dealt a lethal blow with 15 minutes to go when keeper Paul Wells misjudged a long ball that bounced over his head giving the Stute forward an easy tap in.

Tobermore continued to press and Neil Lamont reduced the deficit with a fine strike with 2 minutes left on the clock but time ran out before they could find an equaliser that their second half performance probably deserved.
